Find and customize exercises

Search the catalog, create a custom movement, and add aliases.

WHERE TO FIND IT

Active Workout → Add Exercise; Settings → Workout Data → Manage Exercise Catalog

On this page

Add an existing movement

Use Add Exercise when building a workout or plan. Search narrows the catalog, and the available filters help distinguish movements by their use or equipment. Select the exact variation you want so the workout shows the appropriate logging fields.

  1. Open Add Exercise and type part of the exercise name.
  2. Use the available filters when the result list is too broad. Frequent reflects exercise usage in the app.
  3. Select the exercise to add it.
  4. Repeat for another movement; the picker resets its search and filters after adding so the next selection starts clean.

Create or customize an entry

When search has no suitable match, the picker can create an exercise from the typed name and add it directly to the current workout or plan. Use Settings → Workout Data → Manage Exercise Catalog for fuller catalog management.

The catalog menu offers Edit and Delete for custom entries. Built-in entries can offer Customize Copy when you need your own variation. View opens the definition, including its equipment, muscles, and logging information. Check those fields before choosing a similar name.

Add aliases and manage visibility

Edit Aliases lets you give a movement additional names that Quick Capture can match. For example, an alias you consistently use can point to the catalog exercise you want without creating a duplicate movement.

Hide removes an entry from the visible catalog choices. Use Hidden Exercises and Set Types under Workout Data to restore hidden items when you need them again. Hiding a built-in exercise and deleting your own custom definition are different actions; review the action label before confirming.
